About the event
Why write horror for kids? While reading spooky helps kids cope with horrors of the real world, the truth is kids are clamoring for scary stories, so let’s not deprive them of the very thing we most love writing? “Scary" is highly subjective, though, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that authors of spooky kidlit have varied approaches to writing and illustrating these books. In this panel of PB, MG, and YA authors and illustrators, we'll discuss how we each approach writing horror for children.
